Description

Description: ‘Soft Touch’ grows as a flattened mound and with a density of branches and needles – it definitely has a “soft touch”. The needles are relatively short and fine with a little twist and a good blue color. This is one of the nicest of Dr. Waxman’s selections – I’d have to say it’s my favorite. A plant grown from one of the original scions Sid sent us was only 5 feet across and 30 inches high at about 25 years of age. Most of the clones that grow tighter than ‘Soft Touch’ have problems with individual branches dying, leaving holes in the plant. In my experience, ‘Soft Touch’ is the tightest, slowest growing form that will not do this.
